FAQs

  • Open Ale Wallet and choose one token you want to transfer, click “Transfer”, then input the transfer info, like amount, receiver address, and complete the password verification.

  • Open Ale Wallet, click on the wallet address on the top of the assets page, and send the wallet address to the other party.

  • One of the features of Ale Wallet as a decentralized wallet is that users are the sole holders of mnemonic/private key, having complete control over their assets. This also means that they will lose control of their assets if the mnemonic/private key is lost. So be sure to back up your wallet and keep it safe.

There are three ways to back up a wallet:

    • Mnemonic: the mnemonic generated through Ale Wallet consists of 12 words. Using a mnemonic is the easiest way to back up a wallet among the three.

    • Private Key: it is used to generate a signature needed for transactions to prove the ownership of funds.

    • Keystore: it is an encrypted version of your private key in JSON format.

    Back up your wallet:

    1. Click the menu button in the top left corner of the wallet page and select the wallet you want to back up.

    2. You will see the option of exporting your private key, keystore, and mnemonic (secret recovery phrase). Then, enter the wallet password.

    3. Back up the private key/keystore according to the security prompts and keep them safe.

Note: you must have your wallet passwords to be able to export the wallet's private key, keystore, and Mnemonic. And you would not be able to reset your password without knowing your current password or your mnemonic (secret recovery phrase) /private key.

  • You need to have an identity wallet to use Ale Wallet, but your identity can only be recovered by the Mnemonic (secret recovery phrase). So, users who only backed up the private key/keystore will need to create an identity wallet first and then import the private key / keystore to recover the wallet.

    Import private key / keystore:

    1. Click the button on the top left corner to manage all your wallets

    2. Click "+Wallet"

    3. Click "Import" to import the private key / Keystore

    4. Wallet recovery success
